I was driving about 8 times by car from Switzerland to the Ukraine. The best way is over Hungary highway 41 until it ends. Perfect highway I guess sponsored by the EU. First town in Ukraine then Berehowe.
To enter the Ukraine easy about 1/2h. To leave 3-4h since this is an EU out border. Keep in mind only 2 package of cigarettes/person and no weapons. This is what the custom is locking for.
